In India, organ donation awareness is very less but the need is very high. Donating organs is as good as donating life to other. It is estimated that in India every year over 100,000 people are diagnosed with kidney failure and requires transplantation. Due to non-availability of organs only about 2,500 kidney transplants are done. The same thing happens for eye and other organ donations.How amazing if after you died, your heart kept beating inside someone else's chest. Your liver lived on. Or your kidneys kept going. 90% of us support organ donation in principle, but only 20% have joined the organ donation register.
How about telling how a person can actually register for organ donation. I think it would be really helpful if some phone numbers/ addresses are provided. Thanks.
